Valentine's Week!

I believe we mentioned previously that we went to the fabric store a few weeks ago and finally decided on a print for Araceli’s room. So, Grandma Sharon offered to sew all of our projects! And this week she completed and sent back the window valance, crib skirt, slip covers for the rocking chair, lamp shade covers and lastly made a quilt with the left over pieces of fabric! Celi’s room looks so much more put together now!

Next, Nana came to visit last week, she was here from Thursday-Tuesday! She said Celi is growing and changing so much since December! Nana enjoyed spending time with Celi, which allowed Mike and I to spend a few dinners out with friends. Also, while the rest of the country was suffering from sever winter snow storms, here in sunny California we were enjoying a few days of 70 degree weather. We took full advantage of the warm weather and went walking with Nana and some of the mom’s in our mom’s group.

Also, Nana brought with her a quilt rack that Papa made for Celi’s room to match her furniture. We are really benefiting from his new shop and hobby! We needed a quilt rack to hang the amazing quilt my friend Leah made for Celi (pink with stars)and now we can also hang Grandma Sharon’s quilt (stripes).

And last, we received two DVD’s from Tia Cynthia who is currently in Iraq! Through a program at the USO Cynthia is able to read a story to Celi and they record her reading it. Then she is able to mail us both the recording of her reading the book as well as the actual book. I played the DVD for Celi and she just loved hearing Cynthia read to her and focused on the laptop screen the whole time. She is just becoming so aware of sound and her hands and focusing so much! Thanks for sending those Tia Cynthia! (Picture of Celi's new hat from cousin Ilene & Ryan!)
